What's all this about a Mermaid?
My daughter is a learner Mermaid. Between us we have been awarded 8 medals for open water swimming in Ireland & UK. Many of the pictures on the blog are of places around Lough Neagh, a once popular water sports activity lough. Now poisoned by many things, some of which are the products most of us use. Easiest way to improve our water? Stop using these products.
I wish to draw attention to earth friendly products that we can switch for the products that have WARNINGS on them as they poison nature. Are you using fish killing washing up liquid, laundry detergent and softener? So many household and personal products we use daily have warnings "Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects, Avoid release into the environment" These products are being released into our waterways untreated.
Alongside these products in supermarkets are earth friendly products.
Even when the sewer waste is treated more treatment is needed to remove the harm these products do, more chemicals to remove more chemicals.
